Well well well well well well well well well. Well.
In a week that contained Champions League semi finals after a weekend that contained FA Cup semi finals, can anyone even remember the actual number of Premier League games played at the weekend? We can. It was 6. Can anyone remember the results of those 6 games? No we can’t either. COMPETITION OVERLOAD.
What we can tell you though, is that Alex Ormerod remains top of the TFG League even though he picked Leicester to beat Southampton. Come on Alex – Southampton are the form team in the Premier League right now! Sarcasm is alive and well. Anyway, this means Alex’s lead is cut to 6 points from Ken Ades and Jeff Coleman (who both sensibly picked Arsenal to beat West Ham), with only 3 #GW’s remaining. Game on.
Now to Pick of the Week… given we have no idea what games were actually officially part of #GW35, we decided to play a game of chance here at #TFG HQ. Heads = everyone gets a pick of the week award. Tails = no one gets a pick of the week award. We are very pleased to announce that tails came out on top. Better luck next time.
Turning attention to #GW36, thankfully there is a full set of fixtures played across Saturday – Monday. Have you got any ‘big picks’ left though? If you have, Liverpool look a good bet to beat Stoke City at Anfield in the Saturday lunchtime kick off, while Man City away at West Ham on Sunday and Spurs at home to Watford on Monday also look like a safe 3 points. If you have either Manchester United or Arsenal left to pick, save it for another week.
Elsewhere, Newcastle will hope to continue their good run and beat West Brom at St James’, whilst Burnley will be favourites to beat Brighton at Turf Moor.
Remember Game Week #36 kicks off at 12.30 on Saturday, when Liverpool entertain Stoke. When you’re ready to make your pick, head HERE to submit your selection.
Whoever you pick, good luck.
