Game Week 36 Preview

Game Week 36

GREENWOOD STANDS TALL AS CHASERS TOPPLE

Chris ‘Steveo’ Greenwood reinforced his place at the summit of the TFG League, thanks to Leicester City’s 4-0 demolition job on Swansea at The King Power on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Rich Le Cras remains in second place – but loses ground on Greenwood as his potential ‘Pick of the Week’ Aston Villa selection backfired – with Southampton eventually running out 4-2 winners at Villa Park. Third placed Leicester City fan Alex Smith will have enjoyed his Saturday as much as the Foxes’ match on Sunday – picking up 3 points courtesy of the Saints.

4th placed Sam Gilling and 5th placed Lana Tippins also dropped points, opting to pick Everton, safe in the knowledge that they would pick up a point after the GW35 fixture debacle.

With Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham (the curse of The Baggies strikes yet again!!!) all drawing, a total of 35 TFGers dropped 2 points. A further 35 will be waiting for the Norwich v Watford result on May 11th.

Looking forward to Game Week 36 and TFGers will be relieved to see a full set of fixtures being played over the traditional 3 days this weekend. To check out your available options you might wish to visit our Ponder page.

Arsenal’s fixture at home to lowly Norwich might be the last chance to use a big gun this season.

Elsewhere, Watford will surely be an attractive pick at home to Aston Villa. In addition, they’ll want to bounce back after the disappointment of last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final defeat at Wembley. But be warned, The Hornet’s home form is only marginally better than The Villains’.

If you’ve been saving a Newcastle pick then now might be the time to use it. Benitez has restored the Magpie’s pride and belief and they will hope to get one over former manager Alan Pardew – who may have one eye on the FA Cup final next month.

Remember, each Game Week begins when the first match of the Game Week kicks off. This week, that’s when several matches kick off simultaneously at 15:00 on Saturday afternoon.

There’s nothing left to do now but pray.

Yours footballingly,

Team TFG
