ORMEROD CROWNED CHAMP WITH GAME TO SPARE
Jamie Camble, it’s time to hand over your crown! Alex Ormerod is officially the 2017/18 TFG champion with Game Week #38 still to play after Stoke’s second half horror show versus Crystal Palace meant closest rival Jeff Coleman could no longer close the 6 point gap. Ormerod himself went with Southampton, who very nearly made his lead even larger were it not for Ryan Bertrand’s inability to launch the ball in to row Z in the last minute at Goodison on Saturday.
Steve Crosthwaite’s Facelona side leapfrogged Coleman’s St Jude’s into second courtesy of the same disastrous showing from Stoke, having picked Roy Hodgson’s high flying birds to keep up their recent good form. In doing so, he cemented his place as runner-up with one game still to play.
However third place is still all to play for with as many as 8 teams still mathematically in with a chance of claiming bronze, and a further 9 (currently placed 10-19) can still finish in the top 10.
Ross Guy and Matt Everard are this week’s TFG ‘Pick of the Week’ award winners after picking West Ham who unexpectedly triumphed away at Leicester. More of them next year should you challenging for honours!
Looking forward to Game Week #38, it seems unlikely that you’ll be sitting on a wealth of talent in your prospective picking pots. Liverpool and Man Utd look most likely to win but as predicted last week, there’s bound to be a few surprise results once again. Perhaps Burnley, Palace, Spurs or Arsenal might be a better shout.
Game Week #38 kicks off at 15:00 on Sunday afternoon when all ten Premier League fixtures kick off simultaneously. When you’re ready to make your pick, head HERE to submit your selection.
Whoever you pick, good luck.
