TOFFEES SHATTER BUT HAMMERS PULL THROUGH
There were points for the majority of you in Game Week #7 as Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham (only just!) and Stoke all proved popular picks, each returning your faith with no less than 3 beautiful points.
This means that Daniel Lacey, James Jones and Walter Hodgson occupy first, second and third places respectively (when we factor in that Team TFG members cannot win prizes), with only our very own Chris Brazier remaining the only TFGer with a 100% win record after 7 Game Weeks. Congrats Chris, but don’t let it go to your head; there’s a chasing pack hot on your heels!
Sadly with nobody brave enough to go with Burnley (who triumphed away at Everton), there’s no ‘Pick of the Week’ award this week, better luck next week folks.
Looking ahead to Game Week #8, Cheslea West London Rovers will be firm favourites to pick up all 3 points at neighbour’s Crystal Palace, in what’s probably the closest thing to that elusive ‘banker’.
Elsewhere, Man City will fancy their chances against Stoke, as will Spurs who host struggling Bournemouth at Wembley.
But if you’re looking for things slightly more risky, then Burnley might (once again) represent good value – as Slaven Bilic brings his West Ham team to Turf Moor in a match he (and they) can’t afford to lose. And if you’re after a ‘Pick of the Week’ shout out, then Watford at home to Arsenal, or Newcastle away at Southampton might be your best bets.
Leicester v West Brom and Swansea v Huddersfield have 1-1 written all over them – so add them to the Liverpool v Man Utd game and file under ‘Risk At Your Own Peril’.
Game Week #8 kicks off at 12.30 on Saturday, when Liverpool entertain Man Utd in what tends to be a fiery and often quite brilliant spectacle on Merseyside.
Once you’ve decided, make your way to our PICK page to submit your selection.
Whoever you pick, good luck.
