In amazing #scenes, we have a new leader at the top of the TFG league table, with Peter Harris’ ‘Harris Saint-Germain’ team (kudos) now sitting in pole position on GOALS SCORED from Alex Ormerod’s ‘Shearer Class’. Yes that’s right, we said goals scored… not points (both on 53), not goal difference (both on +26), but GOALS SCORED (and by 1 goal only!). There’s only one more differential left, that’s number of wins (which Alex Ormerod leads with 17 wins vs Harris’ 16!). What drama. Check the rules.
In further amazing #scenes, it was actually a West Brom pick that secured top spot for Peter Harris. WEST BROM WON A GAME OF PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL PEOPLE. Peter was in good company here, as another 32 of you also picked West Brom to beat Brighton. We hear you all enjoyed a good knee’s up at Alan Pardew’s house after the game.
Other notable points from #GameWeek 23 include –
- A whopping 39 TFGers had a total whopper by picking Newcastle to beat Swansea at St James’, including Alex Ormerod.
- No one picked Liverpool to beat Man City in what turned out to be the game of the Premier League season so far.
- The top 10 in the TFG League are all within 5 points of Peter Harris in top spot.
- For some reason, 7 of you picked Huddersfield to beat West Ham, including Team TFG’s very own Chris Brazier. That boy has obviously lived away from Yorkshire for too long.
As for Roland Marshman’s never ending Pick of the Week quest, he came so so so close this week, but alas there is no cigar for Roland this time. In our third #scenes of this communication, Roland only missed out due to Olaonipekun Paul Junaid also picking Bournemouth to beat Arsenal on Sunday afternoon. The twist? Olaonipekun’s team name is ‘ARSENAL Football club’. WHAT.
Turning attentions to Game Week #24, which kicks off with Brighton vs Chelsea on Saturday lunchtime. Now, Chelsea played until 3am this morning in their FA cup replay vs Norwich and ended that game with 4 men taking 5 penalties. Is this a great opportunity to use up a Brighton pick? You tell us.
Elsewhere, Man City will be favourites to return to winning ways at home to Newcastle, Leicester will look to continue their decent form vs Watford at the King Power and can West Ham beat a Bournemouth team that don’t travel particularly well?
Pick of the Week lovers – what about Crystal Palace to win away at Arsenal? Or Swansea to win away at Liverpool? Will Swansea ever actually get a pick???
As for the 6 pointer at the Bet365 stadium? Stoke or Huddersfield? Our advice is pick neither.
Remember, #Gameweek 24 kicks off at 12:30 on Saturday lunchtime – so get PICKING now!
