TFG RETURNS TO BRIGHTEN YOUR WEEKEND!
The sun shone, the shorts came back out from their annual hibernation and the beer gardens of England’s green and pleasant land were packed to the rafters. But my oh my, aren’t Saturday afternoon’s dull without the Premier League and TFG? But fear no more: TFG returns to save your weekend!
More on the upcoming GameWeek below, but first cast your minds back to the 18th and 19th of March, when snow was falling across parts of the UK and Seamus Coleman was still in your fantasy team: West Brom showed Arsenal who was boss at The Hawthorns, Man United, Chelsea and Spurs edged past Stoke, ‘Boro and Southampton respectively, Leicester and West Ham played out a cracker in the capital and Sunderland scraped a 0-0 at home to travel sick Burnley.
In the Q-Sphere TFG League, one of the the shrewdest picks of the week came, you won’t be surprised to hear, from league leader Mr Philip Drew of Humberside. Thanks to Troy Deeney’s own goal Crystal Palace secured 3 points for Drew’s Tigersaints, 3rd place Tommy Pearson and 13 others.
Elsewhere, Everton were a popular choice and that proved to be a wise option, as the Toffees eased past Hull City at Goodison 4-0. In total 19 TFGers went with the Toffees including 2nd placed Andy Reynolds. Bournemouth too were a sound choice, rewarding 11 people’s faith that they would overcome Swansea (which they did 2-0).
The ‘Pick of the Week’ for GW29 goes to Roland Marshman, who was the only one of you to go with West Brom to beat Arsenal. We salute you Roland, your ‘Pick of the Week’ skills know no bounds. Take a bow son.
At this point we just want to let you know that GameWeek 31 begins on Tuesday 4th April at 19:45. At this stage in the season it would be a catastrophe for some managers to forget to submit their picks so we wanted to give you as much warning as possible.
Looking ahead to GW30, with Arsenal hosting Man City, Liverpool locking horns with neighbours Everton and Man United at home to West Brom, now’s a great time to bust out a Chelsea pick if you still have one in your proverbial pick pot. The Blues play Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, and despite having won 3 on the bounce The Eagles will do well to come away with anything as the Champions in waiting will look to cement their lofty league position.
But if you, like me, used your Chelsea picks back around Christmas time then you’ll need to look elsewhere for inspiration. Hull will know that they have a real chance to come away with the point at home to an inconsistent West Ham side.
Southampton will be favourites to beat South Coast rivals Bournemouth at Saint Mary’s but may find themselves a rather on the rusty side having only played twice in the month if March.
And finally if you were saving your Leicester picks for their inevitable good run now might be the time to bring them to the table as the in form Foxes entertain Stoke City.
Remember you need to submit your selection by the time the first fixture of each GameWeek kicks off. This week that’s when the Liverpool derby gets underway at Anfield at 12:30 on Saturday lunchtime.
